 Summer makeup can get tricky with the humidity and heat. You don’t want to look like your face is melting off. Here are a few tips from makeup artist Susmta Patel, the founder and creative director of “Studio Sush,” to avoid smeared, melted eyeliner.
Choose an eyeliner that is less likely to smear. Buy a water-proof or smear-resistant formula. Liquid eye liner can be applied more accurately and you are less likely to have to remove any excess. Consider buying an eyeliner sealant. This liquid product is mixed with powdered eyeliner and applied with an eyeliner brush.
Prepare your face before applying your eyeliner. Begin with a clean face. Oiliness around the eye encourages eyeliner to travel. Apply a coat of translucent powder underneath your eye.
Apply your eyeliner as usual. Sweep away any extra translucent powder from under your eye with a fluffy brush. Seal your eyeliner by using an eye-lining brush coated with eye shadow of the same shade as your eyeliner. The powdery formulation will lock the eyeliner in place. Translucent powder will also work to seal your eyeliner.
Use oil-free foundations and concealers near your eyes in order to prevent melting eyeliner.

Fur (or faux fur) is, of course, hot for fall. Today, we look at three fabulous fur pieces that we love this season.

 Fur booties

Many designers have teamed up with low-priced stores to bring a version of their designs to the masses. And this September, superstar and style icon Jennifer Lopez is doing the same.
The new Jennifer Lopez Collection, exclusively at Kohl’s, is making fashion aficionados such as Nina Garcia (Fashion Director, Marie Claire) and Rob Zangardi (Fashion Stylist/ Costume Designer), turn their heads.
In this new Kohl’s fashion video, Jennifer and fashion industry insiders discuss the upcoming Jennifer Lopez Collection, its rich detailing and affordable price.
The collection will be available at Kohl’s stores nationwide, and on Kohls.com, beginning in September 2011.

Kim Kardashian is getting married soon, but she isn’t too busy to launch her latest limited edition fragrance — Love by Kim Kardashian. In fact, she’ll be wearing the fragrance on her wedding day.
The soft, feminine scent opens with top notes of sparkling red currant, pink freesia and star jasmine. A heart of French mimosa, rare Egyptian tuberose, and rose absolute orpur eases into a rich background of sensual musk, creamy sandalwood, and orris butter.
“I used to think falling in love was the most incredible feeling,” said Kardashian. “But now I see there’s nothing more special than the enduring beauty of building a life with your other half and watching your love grow, each and every day.”
The fragrance comes in an amazing platinum finish bottle encrusted with 450 hand-laid clear cut stones. Only 1,000 bottles were produced — Kim is keeping one for herself to wear on her wedding day and giving away 200 at her bridal shower. So that leaves only 799 left to share with fans. Each limited edition bottle is numbered and signed by Kim. Priced at $100, Love by Kim Kardashian is available at kardashianfragrance.com.
While Kim and her man, NBA player Kris Humprhies, are set to get married on August 20, 2011, you’ll be able to watch the wedding in a two part E! special in October. Kim’s Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event will be airing on Sunday, Oct. 9 at 8 p.m. and Monday, Oct. 10 at 9 p.m.

So, I’m sure you are all aware of the latest breaking news – Kim Kardashian has Psoriasis! Oh no!
It’s actually very, very common. NYC-based dermatologist Dr. Eric Schweiger of Schweiger Dermatology (http://www.schweigerdermatology.com/) has put together some tips on how to manage psoriasis that may be very helpful to Kim (if she’s reading) or any of you.
Psoriasis flares during times of increased stress – it’s important to manage stressors, especially if you have a history of psoriasis.
People with psoriasis can have flares triggered by infection (ex. you may flare during an upper respiratory infection or even scratches on the surface of the skin!).
Keep in mind the “Kobner Phenomenon” – psoriasis can develop in areas that didn’t previously have psoriasis when there is trauma to the skin (such as a scratch or even sunburn).
While sun exposure helps psoriasis, it is only recommended in small amounts as increased sun exposure also increases your chance of skin cancer.
Use moisturizer daily to help protect the barrier of the skin. Your dermatologist can prescribe topical medications (cortisone creams) that are easy to apply and can help the psoriasis flare resolve quickly. In severe cases of psoriasis, there are injectable medications (called “biologics”) and lasers that help to prevent and treat flares.
