Ever hear of a woman named Xaviera Hollander? If not maybe you have heard the term the Happy Hooker.
I have been spending some quality time researching Hollander since I am writing a one woman show about sex. While most people have heard of Heidi Fleiss, some people have no knowledge about Hollander.
In a short time, Hollander went from being a call girl to becoming one of the most famous madams of New York City when she opened up her brothel, Xaviera’s Happy House. In 1971, she was arrested for prostitution and forced to leave the county. It was then that she wrote the best selling memoir, The Happy Hooker: My Own Story. The book is a delightful read as well as packed with great tips about men. Madams do tend to have great skills in the boudoir.
The book also inspired a movie by the same name starring Lynne Redgrave. Unfortunately, the movie was not filled with a lot of porn scenes it focused more on greed and lust in The Big Apple.
Hollander has given lectures on the “do and don’ts of sex in Canada, Holland, and various cities in Europe. For 35 years she wrote a monthly advice column for Penthouse Magazine called Call Me Madam and she has remained their most popular columnist.
She now operates a unique bed and breakfast in Amsterdam called the Happy House Bed & Breakfast and produces theater in Europe. Rumor has it there is Happy Hooker musical in the works.

Have you ever wondered where the wedding custom: something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue comes from? It is a custom that used is by many women when they are ready to tie the knot. It actually comes from an anonymous poet during the Victorian era.
The original good luck phrase reads as:
Something old, something new
Something borrowed, something blue
And a silver sixpence in her shoe.
Something old shows off the connection with the bride to her family.
Something blue is a symbol for loyalty and faithfulness. It is common for a bride to wear a blue garter.
Something borrowed is to remind the bride that friends and family are there to support her in her transition from being single to married.
The sixpence was used as a good luck charm to wish the bride success with money for her nuptials.
It is a traditional that lives on. Enjoy it and figure out fun ways to celebrate it.

Did you know that the biggest growing audience for porn is women? Stop acting shocked, you know you have clicked on something scandalous online from time to time.
Women are finally admitting that they are interested in porn and now quite a few of the well known popular porn studios are run by women. While most of those studios are making movies more appealing to women, there is still some work to do.
The great news is there are some feminist porn filmmakers creating sexy movies for women. I get a lot of request for more information on porn/erotic movies for women. This list is a short one that will get your feet wet (among other things) when it comes to porn for women.
Candida Royalle- Royalle appeared in about 25 movies during the golden age of porn after living an alternative lifestyle in San Francisco. There is no argument that Royalle is a pioneer when it comes to adult films for women. She created Femme Productions in 1984 to produce films that spoke to women. Her collection of films is great if you are a newbie to watching porn movies. She also has a line of personal massagers called Natural Contours.
Erika Lust- This award winning writer, producer, and founder of Lust Films of Barcelona makes hip, hot, and entertaining movies. Lust offers free clips of her movies on her site from time to time. She is also the author of two great sexy books, Good Porn: A Woman’s Guide and Erotic Bible to Europe. Lust is all about women and their pleasure.
Joanna Angel- Angel is the creatrix of the ever popular alternative porn site, BurningAngel.com. This petite nice Jewish girl started her website while living in Williamsburg while working at night as a stripper. Her movies tend to have great plots and the sex ain’t bad either. If traditional porn is not your thing, you should check out Angel.
Hot Movies for Her- This site is dedicated to porn for women. They have the largest library and selection around, so you could watch for days. Besides the hot on demand, there is a blog packed with sex information and tips.

As interracial dating and marriage continues to rise, more high profile people are showing up with a partner of another race. Some people are a surprise, one never knows who likes brown sugar or has yellow fever. Let’s take a look at who is swirlin’ it up.

Diane Farr and Seung Yong Chung- You may know Farr from shows, like Numbers and Rescue Me. Farr has a new book out called “Kissing Outside the Lines” where she talk about being married to Korean American, Seung Yong Chung who an Asian American. A great quote from the book is from Farr’s mother, “We always hoped that Diane would not marry outside of our race.” There is a humorous twist to the comment. It is a juicy read about the joys and oys of interracial love.

Janet Jackson and Wissam Al Mana - Jackson’s man is cute, younger, Qatari, and a billionaire, she says she has never been happier. When Jackson talks about him, she blushes a little. In an interview, he called Janet the woman of his dreams. The two are very close; Al Mana was there for Janet during Michael’s death. Seems like Janet picked herself a keeper, which is a good look on her.

Roger Ebert and Chaz Hammel Smith- This one of my favorite couples, though sickness and tough times, they are still together. Ebert proposed to Chaz at the Grand Prix in Monte Carlo while they were sitting outside eating ice cream. And have been married since 1992. A fun fact is that Ebert went out with Oprah. To think, Ebert could have been in the Stedman position, I guess that did not get a thumbs up.

Michael and Shakira Caine- The Caines have been married since 1973, they have a fun romantic story Michael spotted Shakira on a Maxwell House commercial and was so smitten with her, he became determined to find her because; he thought she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. He thought he was going to have to go to Brazil to find her. It turned out she was living in London ( his backyard) and is of Indian descent, not Brazilian.

Peter Norton and Gwen Adams Norton- In case you are wondering who Norton is, think Norton Anti- Virus. Makes us all rethink geeky guys now right? He is married to New York financier, Gwen Adams Norton. They spend a lot of time on Martha’s Vineyard and at cultural events. Also note that Norton’s first wife, Eileen Norton is an African American woman from Watts California with whom he has two children. Norton definitely keeps the swirl going.

New York City is a delectable city to tie the knot in. People are always asking me where a good location is for a wedding. After all, the last thing a bride wants to stress about is the perfect location. There are great luxury spots in the city that you could have your nuptials that maybe you haven’t thought of. Saying “I Do” in any of these venues will make you feel glamorous and chic.
Central Park- I have performed a few weddings at Central Park and it is quite an experience. If your wedding party is under 20 people this is the perfect spot for you to consider. It is quite affordable to get a permit to get married in the park. A cheap and beautiful place in the city is always a good thing, especially one that does not look or feel like. People will be walking by looking as your wedding takes place, you will feel like royalty.
New York City Zoo- It is getting popular to get married at the zoo. If this is your bag of tea, you can have a luxury at this location. Maybe you are an animal lover or you want something just a bit difference. It’s not everyday that people announce their wedding at the zoo. You can do the Central Park Zoo or the Bronx Zoo. Maybe you want to invite the seals or a baby monkey to be part of one of the best days of your life.
Botanical Gardens- This is one of my favorite places in New York City. It is absolutely beautiful and would be fabulous for your wedding backdrop. Check out the rose garden or even the lilies. There is an array of options for you to choose at the gardens. If you want an outdoor wedding, this is the go to place. It will be having a wedding in an enchanted forest.
New York Library- You could have a luxurious wedding in this space, did you know that? The architecture and the definition of the rooms are dramatically stunning. You would feel like a Princess as you saunter down the steps to the love of your life. The space has all the makings for a grand entrance.
City Hall- Don’t feel like spending a crazy amount on a wedding, keep it small and go to city hall. If it was good enough for Carrie in Sex and The City then it is good enough for you. Getting married on the down low then announcing it to all your friends is a slick move. Of course, you will have a grand soiree to celebrate afterwards. Keep the rice, flying doves, elephants on bicycles, etc. for another occasion, like your 50th anniversary.
Plaza Hotel- What girl wouldn’t want to get married at the Plaza Hotel? It is sexy, famous, and chic. If you have always dreamed of this day or you want to have a fairy tale wedding, the Plaza is definitely how you do it. All of your friends will want invites.

You know what’s sexy, a cocktail packed with aphrodisiacs! Two cooking courtesans, Nigella Lawson and Marcela Valladolid, have signature cocktails that you should be serving up when you are in the mood to seduce. Lawson’s “Mojito” and Valladolid’s “Chocolate Margarita” should be put in your arsenal of weapons of seduction.
Plus, it’s summer and these are delightful drinks to get any soiree sizzling. You will have everyone feeling in the mood to loosen up for a little love.
How can anyone go wrong with a chocolate margarita, especially one that is this good? Valladolid’s sexy cocktail is so good; it is like dessert in a margarita glass. Chocolate is the ultimate aphrodisiac. Plus with a touch of cinnamon which is know to drive men crazy. Think of this as a love elixir.

Chocolate Margarita
Ingredients:
To rim the glasses:
Chocolate syrup
Finely chopped Mexican or bittersweet chocolate*
The Margarita:
1/2 cup chocolate syrup
1 cup (8 ounces) tequila
1/2 cup (4 ounces) chocolate liqueur (recommended: Godiva)
1/3 cup heavy cream
1/3 cup orange liqueur
1 teaspoon almond extract
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Ice
Directions:
Serves 4
To rim the glasses: Put the syrup and chopped chocolate into 2 small dishes. Moisten the rims of 4 margarita or martini glasses with the chocolate syrup. Dip them in the Mexican chocolate until coated. Set aside.
Making the margarita: Combine all of the ingredients, except ice, in a pitcher. Working in batches, transfer the mixture to a shaker full of ice. Shake and pour into the prepared glasses.

Everything that Nigella Lawson oozes sex, people watching her cook is like watching food porn. Mix up this magic mojito and be ready for things to happen. The rum and the mint are delightful aphrodisiacs that make this refreshing drink a hit.
Mojito:
1 teaspoon sugar
1 lime cut into four wedges
4 mint leaves
1 sprig of mint
2 ounces Rum
2 ounces club soda
Directions:
Serves: 1-2
Place the mint leaves into a long mojito glass (often called a “collins” glass) and squeeze the juice from a cut lime over it. You’ll want about two ounces of lime juice, so it may not require all of the juice from a single lime.
Leave the lime wedges in the glass. Add the sugar, and then gently smash the mint into the lime juice and sugar with a muddler. Add crushed ice crushed then add the rum and stir, and top off with the club soda.
Garnish with a mint sprig.

I recently went to the eAmore Innovation Summit in New York and found out about quite a few new dating sites that are catching on in the dating world.
The good news is that most of these dating sites are innovative and adding a much needed twist that the well known dating sites do not have. While there is nothing wrong with Match.com, JDate.com, OkCupid, eHarmony, etc. it is nice to have more options to find the love of your life.
There was a demo of nine dating sites which were judged by a panel of peers and the audience. The hit of the night was Luv@FirstTweet, they had a nice presentation. It is getting more common for people to say that they started dating someone that they met on Twitter, it is a great concept that just may really take off.
Luv@FirstTweet is basically a free online Twitter dating service. You sign up through Twitter and fill out a short profile. You then will need to answer some questions to be matched with your preference. It is simple and easy. What I also love about this service is that they match you and notify you when they have a match for you. That means you don’t have to stalk on Twitter all day hoping to be matched up. Quick, simply, and easy, may just be the service you are looking for.
If you want to try online dating think about signing up. You have nothing to loose and in every tweet to gain.

Being a modern woman can be hard to think about exercising your sex appeal. Who has the time, anymore? Women are working long hours, doing laundry, taking care of their partner or looking for one. Let’s keep it real, thinking about looking or acting sexy is the last thing on your mind.
You can still get in touch with your sex appeal at any time. Just remember these three little tips and you will bring your sexy back!
1) Have Serious “Me Time”- Whether you schedule in your “me time” during each day or at the end of week, this is all about you. It is the perfect time to get your mani and pedi on or get a firm waxing on those long sexy legs of yours. When you keep yourself looking good, you feel good. Remember this; it is a key ingredient to your luscious life.
2) Change Your Routine Up. Have you been stuck in the same routines? Oh girl, not only are you boring your friends to death with the same ‘ole stories, but you may also be boring your lover to death. Switch things up on your life, do not be so predictable. That goes for the single ladies to. People who keep you guessing are more appealing to everyone around them because of their unique flair. Be sure to mix it up.
3) Stay Open To the Possibilities. When we are busy, we it is easy to stop making eye contact, stop holding the door for the person walking behind your or miss the older person in the train to give your seat to. That is missing the opportunity to connect to people. When you are open, MAGIC happens. Cutting yourself off from people around you is okay sometimes, but staying open adds a tremendous amount to your sex appeal. It is the law of attraction bringing everything to you.

Elizabeth Grant skincare came about due to Elizabeth’s own embarrassment over her skin in the 1940’s. It was during the Second World War when Elizabeth discovered a natural substance that was used to treat war wounds. She had it specially formulated with other ingredients and began applying it to her troubled skin. Gradually, but very noticeably, the transformation occurred. From this personal transformation, Elizabeth knew she had found a truly unique ingredient and in the 1950’s launched her own skin care treatment line.
Her miracle blend, Torricelumn, is an ingredient extracted from the ocean containing natural sea vitamins, nutrients and minerals bonded together. When I first heard that Ice-T and Coco were going to get their own reality called “Ice Loves Coco”, I thought, it was a joke. The show came about, because Coco wants to take her career to the next level. It has not been declared what the next level is, but know that is the goal. Let’s just hope it isn’t acting. While I do happen to agree with alot of politic comments from Ice-T, would I want to see him at home, in a Speedo or taking a shower? You know how reality television sometimes shows you too much information.
I did know that I would turn in at least for a few shows. Ice-T and Coco would either be a hot mess to watch or at least mindless entertainment for a few minutes. My other reason I wanted to turn in is due to the fact that I am now matchmaking for interracial couples. I wanted to see if Ice-T and Coco would show off a different side than is normally portrayed on television between interracial couples. Unfortunately, the talk shows, Jerry Springer and Maury, show interracial love as a train wreck while a lot of other shows display stereotypes, so my fingers were crossed that there would be a positive spin on this reality show.
Within minutes of the show coming on, not only did Ice love Coco, but so did I. Actually, I love them both, especially together. Coco is quirky which is what is so awesome about her; even Ice sometimes doesn’t know what to say. He just looks at her, because he knows she is going to do keep on with her idea. As he says “why should he be a wet blanket on what she wants to do?” There was a scene of Coco working out to keep killer curves. Any woman who works out on her heels (and can) is my kinda girl.
They have only spent one night apart, who would have thought? When Coco said she never got to wear a wedding dress for their wedding, the camera caught how Ice-T looked at Coco. It was priceless for at that moment, the audience could see his care and concern for her. By the end of the show, Ice suggested that they renew their vows. Now you know that is going to be fun to watch, who knows what these two will do for a wedding.
Who would have thought that an ex pimp and gangsta rapper would have one of the most loving and positive relationships in the entertainment business? They have total respect and admiration for each other. If you missed the show, check it out. You may think of it as a guilty pleasure, but you will give a whole lot of relationship tips from Ice T and Coco. Now we know how they have been together for ten years strong.
