Turquoise was hottest color for 2010 but there’s a new hue in town. For 2011, we usher in another bold color — Honeysuckle. This reddish pink was recently announced as Pantone 2011 Color of the Year and is sure to be seen in everything from home decor to fashion.

“In times of stress, we need something to lift our spirits. Honeysuckle is a captivating, stimulating color that gets the adrenaline going — perfect to ward off the blues,” says Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. “Honeysuckle derives its positive qualities from a powerful bond to its mother color red, the most physical, viscerally alive hue in the spectrum.”
What colors should you wear with honeysuckle?
Neutrals such as black, navy, charcoal, or light to mid gray all will work. Pantone also recommends green tones, including bronze-green, as well as a pinkish brown (like apricot-brandy).
If you want something real bold, I think a honeysuckle dress with turquoise or yellow accessories will make a real statement for spring or summer.
