Those who frequent upscale beach resorts from The Hampton’s to the Islands, know about Calypso’s gorgeous silk wrap dresses, embroidered tunics, and flowy tops and sweaters.  I’ve always said if my summer wardrobe could be wiped clean it would be replaced with a Calypso store.  The pieces are perfect for taking the beach to the fancy hotel bar, boating to a three star restaurant and so on, their merchandise exude summer.  The Calypso collection available at Target will feature a number of the Calypso staples in natural fibers, including cotton voile and silk, from women’s clothing and accessories to children’s clothing and even homewear.  Mark your calendars, ladies, according to our predictions, this collection won’t last past mid-May:

Crocs for Spring

Tuesday, March 22nd, 2011

by Kori Ellis

Crocs and nationally-recognized fashion expert, Jenn Falik recently released a new video about how to update your spring wardrobe without spending a bundle.

In the video (which can be seen below), Jenn Falik suggests small updates you can make to your current wardrobe to transform your look and leave you with variety of new styles you can wear throughout spring and summer.

What’s cool is the Crocs also recently launched their “New Crocs, New You” contest to win a makeover, including a shopping spree with Jenn Falik in New York City. From now until April 15, women can visit crocs.com/newyou to enter the contest to have a chance to win the shopping spree, as well as an opportunity to win one of the three new spring and summer styles.

I honestly used to hate Crocs with a passion. But their styles have been updated in recent years and some of them are pretty cute.

The contest is also a philanthropic event. Crocs will donate $5 for every contest entry to Dress for Success with a minimum donation of $40,000; the donation supports the organization’s ongoing efforts in providing professional attire and a network of support for disadvantaged women.

Steal the Look: Kathryn Morris

Monday, November 1st, 2010

by Kori Ellis

Kathryn Morris from Cold Case looked terrific at the premiere of The Walking Dead earlier this week. She wore a chic black dress, belt and jacket from Elaine Kim which she accessorized with a Nooni clutch and Vahan jewelry.

Kathryn Morris

Kathryn is set to star alongside Brad Pitt in the upcoming film Moneyball.

Here are the details on her outfit.

  • Elaine Kim “Aimee” Dress, Retail: $495
  • Elaine Kim “Alda” Leather Jacket, Retail: $875
  • Nooni “Fury” Clutch in Pewter, Retail: $1,250
  • Vahan 14K Gold and Sterling Silver Earrings with Black Onyx, Retail: $1,260
  • Vahan 14K Gold and Sterling Silver Ring with Diamonds, Retail: $3,200

Faux Leather JacketYou can get the look for less by starting out with your go-to little black dress and adding a faux leather jacket. One of my favorites is the (Minus The) Leather Quilted Shoulder Jacket. It’s under $100 at Express.

Cinch the dress with a wide stretchy belt. New York & Company has a good selection to choose from with most belts priced under $20.

Add a clutch with a little texture such as this Rolfs Negril snake-embossed clutch. It’s just $35.00 at eBags. Finish off your look with your favorite jewelry. Don’t worry about buying real diamonds. Cubic zirconia, crystals and other gemstones will add the sparkle you need.
