You know what’s sexy, a cocktail packed with aphrodisiacs! Two cooking courtesans, Nigella Lawson and Marcela Valladolid, have signature cocktails that you should be serving up when you are in the mood to seduce. Lawson’s “Mojito” and Valladolid’s “Chocolate Margarita” should be put in your arsenal of weapons of seduction.
Plus, it’s summer and these are delightful drinks to get any soiree sizzling. You will have everyone feeling in the mood to loosen up for a little love.
How can anyone go wrong with a chocolate margarita, especially one that is this good? Valladolid’s sexy cocktail is so good; it is like dessert in a margarita glass. Chocolate is the ultimate aphrodisiac. Plus with a touch of cinnamon which is know to drive men crazy. Think of this as a love elixir.
Chocolate Margarita
Ingredients:
To rim the glasses:
Chocolate syrup
Finely chopped Mexican or bittersweet chocolate*
The Margarita:
1/2 cup chocolate syrup
1 cup (8 ounces) tequila
1/2 cup (4 ounces) chocolate liqueur (recommended: Godiva)
1/3 cup heavy cream
1/3 cup orange liqueur
1 teaspoon almond extract
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Ice
Directions:
Serves 4
To rim the glasses: Put the syrup and chopped chocolate into 2 small dishes. Moisten the rims of 4 margarita or martini glasses with the chocolate syrup. Dip them in the Mexican chocolate until coated. Set aside.
Making the margarita: Combine all of the ingredients, except ice, in a pitcher. Working in batches, transfer the mixture to a shaker full of ice. Shake and pour into the prepared glasses.
Everything that Nigella Lawson oozes sex, people watching her cook is like watching food porn. Mix up this magic mojito and be ready for things to happen. The rum and the mint are delightful aphrodisiacs that make this refreshing drink a hit.
Mojito:
1 teaspoon sugar
1 lime cut into four wedges
4 mint leaves
1 sprig of mint
2 ounces Rum
2 ounces club soda
Directions:
Serves: 1-2
Place the mint leaves into a long mojito glass (often called a “collins” glass) and squeeze the juice from a cut lime over it. You’ll want about two ounces of lime juice, so it may not require all of the juice from a single lime.
Leave the lime wedges in the glass. Add the sugar, and then gently smash the mint into the lime juice and sugar with a muddler. Add crushed ice crushed then add the rum and stir, and top off with the club soda.
Garnish with a mint sprig.
