Colorblock dresses have been hot in fashion for a while. And we’ll see more of the same come fall. Here are a few of our favorite colorblock pieces for the new season.

The Milly Natalie Belted Colorblock Dress ($330) features fabulous colors and a figure-flattering belt under the bust. Wear this dress with a pair of lady-like pumps or Mary Janes.

This cashmere sweater ($495) from Sophie Theallet is created with uber-soft cashmere and bold colorblocking. Pair this sweater with simple black pants or your favorite flirty skirts this fall.

Wrap-up in style with this gorgeous ‘Eyelash’ Colorblock Cashmere Wrap from Nordstrom. It’s perfect for brisk fall mornings, and at $88 you can’t beat the price.

This summer, get into stripes. Nautical stripes are certainly hot, but they aren’t the only stripes you can find. Abstract stripes are really “in.”

Bargain choice – Stripes that are uneven and wavy, running vertically, highlight this summer dress. This comfy dress can be worn casually or out to a summer party with the right accessories. This sleeveless dress features a self-tie belt hiding the elastic waistline. You can get this satiny striped dress for $24.80 at Forever 21.

Splurge-worthy – Graphic, edgy stripes in black, white and gray add a nice dimension to this boatneck dress. This dress has long sleeves and a self-tie sash at the waist. The Alice by Temperley dress has a beautiful drape and a wrap-like tulip skirt. This designer dress is available now at net-a-porter.com, marked down from $375 to just $225.

This summer, if you want to add just one piece to your wardrobe, make a breezy, swingy white dress.
Look for a dress that isn’t too long or too short — if it hits at the knee or just below, it’s perfect. The swingy shape makes it ideal for parties or it can even be used as swimsuit cover-up.
We love the tiered halter dress by Theory ($295) pictured here. This pretty dress can be worn halter style, or the thin straps can be tied in a bow on the bustine to make it strapless.
You’ll also adore the Lauren by Ralph Lauren ‘Esmeralda’ Linen Sundress ($158). This white linen dress features a full, gently pleated skirt and eyelet embroidery trim. It’s available at Nordstrom in sizes 8-16.

When I think about GUESS, I still associate the brand with jeans. But the fact of the matter is that GUESS by Marciano creates some beautiful pieces other than jeans — including dresses.
Check out Adrienne Bailon wearing a GUESS by Marciano dress to the CEW Beauty Awards on Friday, May 20th in New York.

You can steal her look by getting the GUESS by Marciano Tryst Glitter Mini Dress ($158). This slinky dress features a fitted gathered design at the waist and plenty of shine. It comes in Pretty Plum or Royal Jade print in sizes XS-L.

Burgundy, bordeaux, merlot — we love the shades of wine in fashion for fall.
If you find yourself wearing too much black and gray when fall rolls around, this year get into wine. Wine hues look great when partnered with everything from gray and silver to brown and cream.
Draped dress
Splurge on this gorgeous Donna Karan dress. This jersey dress features a draped front, loose long sleeves and calf-length hem. This designer dress will definitely cost you a pretty penny — it’s $2,695 at Neiman Marcus.
Roomy handbag
Pick out a roomy tote or satchel for fall. You don’t have to spend a bundle — choose faux leather instead of the real thing. This Jessica Simpson BLVD tote is price just under $65 and comes in a rich bordeaux shade.
Cut-out pumps
Look for ladylike pumps with unique detailing. These pointy Jimmy Choo pumps feature croc-embossing and cutout sides. If you want to splurge on a pair of pumps that you can wear from the office to a night out, these designer shoes are a good bet. Get these burgundy pumps at Neiman Marcus, priced at $675.

Ruffles continue to be one of the hottest trends in fashion. This summer, add a breezy, ruffled dress to your wardrobe for a party of special date.
We love the Ruffle Ramos Dress from Ashley Michaelsen. This adorable chiffon dress features long sleeves and an empire waist. You can get this dress in any color upon request.
Priced at $250 at AshleyMichaelsen.com and fine boutiques, this dress is available in size 0-8 — they really need to expand their size selection.
