All you QVC addicts out there get ready, the new Bare Escentuals Beautifully Bronzed Deluxe Two-Piece Collection ($46.50) is debuting on QVC on Thursday, April 21 at midnight.
Bare Escentuals, the iconic brand known for their innovative formulas created from pure ingredients, has created a power packed faux tan kit that not only delivers a natural and healthy-looking tan but also moisturizes and hydrates the skin with aloe vera and emollients. This summer must-have features a deluxe 16-ounce size and a new tan brush that makes application seamless and streak-free, with no messy, post-tan clean up!
What is it? Say “Aloha” to a healthy, natural-looking tan all year round with the Beautifully Bronzed Collection. Within a few hours of application, skin will glow flawlessly golden and last for five to seven days. Plus, the formula won’t clog pores or irritate sensitive skin. The revolutionary new deluxe tan brush will allow for a quick, easy and clean application.
How to use:
- Before applying faux tan, prep skin first. While showering, exfoliate skin carefully to provide the smoothest surface to glide sunless tanner over.
- Using the deluxe brush, apply sunless tanner to dry skin. Use quick strokes to buff all over the body using a cross-hatch or circular motion, being sure to smooth away any edges.
- Because the color is visible during application, don’t worry about any embarrassing goofs like rings around the ankles, elbows and knees. Just be sure to buff more lightly over these crease-prone areas.
- Final Tip: Make sure to rinse the brush after each use. This will keep the brush in the best shape for future tanning.

The winter weather can take a toll on your skin. Get your skin ready for strapless dresses and sandals with these beauty tips to replenish and rejuvenate your skin.
Exfoliate
The dry air in your house and the cold air outdoors leaves you skin flaky and dull. Start by exfoliating your skin from head to toe to scrub away those dead skin cells. Buy two scrubs — one that is gentle enough to use on your face and another that is strong enough for the rest of your body.
Hydrate
Replenish and nourish dry skin with by moisturizing morning and night. Use your morning moisturizer right after you step out of the shower, before you dry off — to help seal in the moisturizer. If your skin is exceptionally dry, use a rich cream — such as body butter. When moisturizing your face, pay special attention to the areas around your eyes and mouth, which are prone to wrinkles and dryness.
Glow
If you are feeling a little pale, get your glow on with bronzer or self-tanner. Just don’t overdo it — you want the sunny glow to look natural. When using bronzer to your face, apply it in the places that the sun hits first — nose, cheeks and chin — not allover you entire face.

Some people think it’s crazy that I regularly use sunless tanners, especially in the winter, but truth be told, I hate looking pale! If you walk into your neighborhood pharmacy, Sephora or a department store, you’ll find countless products that promise that enviable “bronzed glow,” yet you, like most, are probably skeptical to apply these yourself. Self tanning may be an art form in it’s own right, but we’ve compiled some of the best tips and top products you can use to achieve a perfect subtle sheen, sans-salon and that hefty price-tag.
1. Smooth, even skin is the first step to a flawless glow, so remember to exfoliate before you apply the treatment. Use a gentle scrub on your face to eliminate any rough patches. A Clarisonic works amazing for this, but an exfoliating cleanser is also great, try: Juice Beauty Exfoliating Cleanser. If you are tanning your body, exfoliate in the shower with scrub like Softsoap Body Butter Scrub in Coconut.
2. If you are tanning your face, choose a formula that’s made for the face. Our favorite is Clarins Instant Smooth Self Tanning. We found the cream easy to apply evenly, just put on as you would lotion, down to your neck area and up to the hairline. For the body, try a towelette to ensure you get the formula on quickly, evenly and don’t have to worry about a goopy gel. Our favorite are Tantowel Towelettes or Kate Somerville Somerville360 Tanning Towelette.
3. To accentuate your glow, use a large powder brush to dust bronzer on cheeks, nose, temples and décolletage. A pop of pink or coral cream blush on the apples of your cheeks will give you a natural sun-kissed complexion. Try NARS Cream Blush in Cactus Flower.
4. More mature skin may benefit from a formula that includes both a self tanner, SPF and anti-aging ingredients to reduce signs of fatigue and refresh your complexion. Try Lancome Flash Brozner Anti-Age Self-Tanning Face Lotion SPF 15.

Low sodium foods are definitely where it’s at these days, but did you ever stop to think that salt might be an amazingly cheap way to keep your skin radiant and glowing this winter? The salt I’m talking about is Epsom Salt, probably one of the oldest products in beauty and it’s also the perfect product to create an at-home spa. Sure it may be something you remember your grandparents using and it doesn’t come in the cutest packaging, but hey, if it works, it works!
Tips for using Epsom Salt at home to exfoliate and rejuvenate skin:
Glowing skin exfoliating treatment: Mix two cups of Epsom Salt with 1/4 cup of petroleum jelly and a few
drops of lavender essential oil. Use the mixture to gently scrub away dry skin patches.
- Microdermabrasion Facial: Mix 1/2 tsp of Epsom Salt into cleansing cream for a deep-pore cleansing. Massage on skin, rinse with cool water and pat dry.
- Pedicure Perfection: Dissolve a 1/2 cup of Epsom Salt into two quarts of warm water. Pour the water into a container and soak your bare feet for 15-20 minutes. Massage the entire foot with Epsom Salt concentrating on the heels and ankles to remove any dry, rough spots.
- Homemade bath crystals: Mix two cups of Epsom Salt with a few drops of fragrance to create a custom bath crystal. Add a few drops of food coloring or 1/2 TSP of glycerin if you like. Store in an airtight container.
Learn more about Epsom Salt at www.facebook.com/epsomsalt or visit your local pharmacy/drugstore to try these remedies out for yourself.

A happy lip is one that doesn’t have flaky skin, looks perfectly kissable and is above all – smooth. With the winter being here, it’s easy to simply throw on Chapstick and believe that it’s medicated abilities will serve you well as you go about your day. But we all know that lips that are moisturized are not immune to flakiness!
Make sure that you do have a lip gloss or balm that is slightly heavier that will have all the enriched elements that will make it easier for you to stay winter fresh. In addition, exfoliating your lips should happen year around but in this season, it’s even more of a must! We all have our favorites – we’re loving Jane Iredale’s Sugar and Butter Lip Exfoliator which is compact and in pink. We’ve been using it quite a bit and have noticed that some guys have snagged it from us to use it too – the brown sugar scrub is amazing and the other end has the plumper!
Finally, drink plenty of water as this is a phenomenal way to keep your lips continuing to look youthful as if you’re ready to head onto a Cover Girl ad any second!

There’s a lot that you may not know about you guy! We have a lot of misconceptions on how guys and girls are different. On a recent weekend of a night in while watching Eat, Pray, Love – one lucky girl realized that her hunnie wanted to embrace the manscape of beauty. Of course, girl code dictates that we share these findings and bust a few myths on what guys draw the line on.
Are we saying that he will run from aisle to aisle in your fave Sephora stocking up on his latest finds? We think not – but our researcher found that guys are just as interested in being skin ready!
Myth Buster 1: They love soft lips. Just like we exfoliate our lips, guys like having smooth kissers too. You can get them to do this by explaining why it’s important and how super easy it is to maintain as it’s a minimal commitment of once or twice a week. Let him try it out and feel the effects, he will definitely want to keep this in his routine. Also suggest scents that make him feel masculine.
Myth Buster 2: He also loves to moisturize – his lips. After explaining that it’s just keeping their lips well nourished, when finding the right aroma, many guys enjoy trying more than just their standard Chapstick or Carmex. Studies show that Jack Black in Grapefruit is a perfect one as well as their Black Tea – if you can find it.
Myth Buster 3: If he loves soft lips, try the rest of the body. Once guys embrace the concept, why stop there. Explain the virtues of sugar and salt scrubs and once again – provide options! You’ll find that he’s super receptive.
Doing all of this in a conversational style and explaining why you love it is a sure fire way to see changes in his beauty routine. Of course, you may also find that you are giving up your beauty booty to help him out but who doesn’t love the whole his and her concept of beauty?

Smooth skin is the ultimate signature. It’s the thing that people will remember the most. It’s not hard to achieve it but like anything, it takes work so to get your holiday ready, here are 3 tips that should help you on the mission that has multiple benefits!
1) Start Fresh: Smooth skin is all about exfoliating where you’re a sugar scrub girl or a salt scrub. Do this 1 – 2 times a week to notice the difference.
2) Pamper It: When you’re done exfoliating, make sure your skin looks amazing by having a Cocoa Oil (love Palmers which also has an Olive Oil version) so that it locks in everything that your skin just had infused into it.
3) Thick Layers: I love Shea Butters and after every shower, I enjoy using this as it creates a velvet feel on your skin that allows you to look like you’re glowing!
Using a variety of lotions and then exfoliating makes sure that your skin is always camera ready and the best accessory that you could possible have when you’re out and about – wherever your days and nights take you!

Mix up a batch of homemade body scrub and turn your bathroom into a spa-like retreat. Turn on some music, have a glass of wine and pamper yourself. Exfoliating with a body scrub will leave your skin rejuvenated, soft and healthy.
Glowing skin exfoliating scrub
Mix 2 cups of Epsom Salt with 1/4 cup of petroleum jelly and a few drops of lavender essential oil. Use the mixture to gently scrub away dry skin patches.
Sweet vanilla treat
Mix 1 cup of granulated sugar along with 1 tsp of vanilla, 1/4 cup of chamomile tea and 2 Tbsp olive oil. This scrub is a fantastic treat for the shower.
Sensational strawberry scrub
Combine 2 large mashed strawberries, 1/2 cup sugar and 12 drops of jojoba oil. Use everywhere from your face to your heels. (Be sure you aren’t allergic to strawberries!)
Lemon body scrub
Mix 1/2 cup lemon juice, 1 cup honey, 2 Tbsp sweet almond oil and 2 Tbsp vegetable oil in a large bowl. Slowly add 2 cups sugar while stirring. Store in a plastic container for up to a month. Gentle enough for both face and body.

Now whether I’m helping people within their style in person, giving it online or going out and about for events – I’m always playful.
Being playful means that I can take my core style and rock other influences within it and yet, go completely out of my zone as well. Style has no rules whatsoever and you never know if something works until you go into the field.
Yes, you see me here at one of my Halloween parties. Although I can safely say that you won’t see me on a normal day wearing a Snow White costume, there were fabulous beauty lessons learned here that are good for any time. I feel that there are three tips that must be used — in order — to ensure that you look as fab and fresh as possible!
1. Fab Skin: Wherever you’re going, good skin is in from the face to legs and more. Make sure that you have smooth skin whether Veet, lasers etc are your way of maintaining and obtaining it. In addition, a blank canvas must also be moisturized – I am obsessed with Palmer’s Cocoa Butter and would never leave without it – in addition it also takes care of blemishes!
2. Soft Lips: Wherever your lips may be going, they won’t go far if they aren’t smooth. Before applying gloss or balm, make sure you exfoliate for a great base.
3. Beauty VIP: We all have key areas that everyone notices or that we want to be noticed, mine are the eyes! So on an average day, I always have 2/7 Eyeliner on but when it’s special, I have Dior Show Mascara and Givenchy Eye Shadow. I love the smoky cutie!
