The New York Times reported today that more men are hitting the salons to get their eyebrows waxed, sculpted and trimmed–”guybrows.” Now, women go through so much to look good–bikini waxing, mani/pedis, pricey skincare concoctions, three different kinds of conditioner toppling over in the tub, etc–so maybe I should be pleased when men make an effort that consists of more than a 2-in-1 shampoo and a swipe of Right Guard. But instead of feeling like it’s evening the score, I’m slightly appalled. (more…)

Trying to cut down your morning routine, aren’t we all! For an easy daytime look, sometimes minimal makeup that puts your natural beauty in the spotlight is the way to go. it Cosmetics, the company that has brought years of make-up secrets, tips and tricks, once known to only celebrity make-up artists, have provided four tips to ensure you look fabulous and better yet, get out the door in just minutes:
1. Groom Your Brows
What you will need: A fabulous brow Pencil
Great looking eyebrows add prominence and frame your face. it Cosmetics brand new Brow Power™ Long-Lasting Eyebrow pencil is truly innovative and unlike any brow pencil currently on the market. Not only is it long-wear, waterproof, smudge-proof and sweat-proof, butt it also has a patent-pending brow growth complex that actually targets brow hair follicle health. It is perfect for those of us who have over-plucked or like myself, just have sparse brows. It also has an exclusive oval-shaped tip that is perfect for both thick and thin brows! As a finishing touch, simply brush through your brows with the comb for a polished look.
2. Create Flawless Skin
What you will need: Creamy concealer and a translucent powder
it Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Hydrolyzed Collagen and Vitamin C & K Concealer is a long wearing concealer that makes skin look polished and flawless. Just a little dab a little with your finger covers up any under eye circles and evens out skin tone. Next, dust a little of it Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Anti-Aging Silk HD Powder to get rid of pores with the stroke of a brush.

3. Make your eyes POP!
What you will need: A great HD Mascara
Swipe one or two coats of it Cosmetics HD Mascara with Eyelash Enhancing Technology on your upper lashes. This Lash Building & Strengthening Mascara with Vitamins & Amino Acids features a new HD brush that gives you uncanny length and separation.
4. Add some moisture to those lips!
What you will need: A fabulous lip balm or gloss
Glosses add a touch of color and shine, creating an understated, but luscious lip. it Cosmetics Signature Smile Brightening Lip Gloss utilizes blue micro-crystal technology that goes on sheer but counteracts the yellow in teeth to create the illusion of a brighter, whiter and more youthful smile. Collagen and Antioxidants provide plumper, healthier looking lips.

Jemma Kidd, international makeup artist and creator of three distinctive make up brands: Jemma Kidd Make Up School, Jemma Kidd PRO and JK, offers these eye makeup and beauty tricks for fall and winter.
Eyebrows should be strong to provide a confident frame for the face, so consider having yours shaped professionally at the start of the season and invest in a brow kit to keep them tidy and defined.
Eyes often water in the cold and wind, so avoid eyeliner or mascara that is likely to run. Jewel and berry colors are fantastic for eyeshadow — try the brighter tones in a moisturizing cream shadow on the lid or to define the socket, as well as the smoky shades that look so sexy. Avoid too much pink, as this brings out redness in the eyes and skin. Shimmery metallic eyeshadow is great for winter drama.
Reinventing summer’s vibrant eye colors:
- In winter, bright colors — especially blues and greens can be applied across the whole eyelid and teamed with graphic black eyeliner for a clean, modern look.
- Use a primer across your lids to smooth the texture and even out any redness.
- Sweep color across the lids with a brush, taking it up to the socket line. Apply dry for a sheer wash of color, or wet for a bolder result (Eye Wardrobe Eyeshadow Quarter, $38).
- Outline the whole of the eyes, including the inner rims, with black eyeliner (Define Stayput Eyeliner in Pitch, $20).
- Wear a nude shape on the lips to balance the looks (Hi-Shine Hydrating Glosstick in Bridgetown, $25).
- Keep the complexion muted—all you need is a sheer tawny powder blush swept lightly across the cheeks (Tailored Colour Powder Blush Duo, $28).
Jemma Kidd Make Up School and Jemma Kidd Pro products are available at Space NK and SpaceNK.com, and JK Jemma Kidd products are available at Target.
