Tune-Up Tips from Celebrity Stylist Jeannie Mai

Tuesday, February 22nd, 2011

By: Erin Brady

You may know Jeannie as the host of the Style Network’s popular makeover series, “How Do I Look?” well she is also the new spokesperson for Yoplait Light yogurt.  She’s sharing some of her top style tips for looking and feeling your best, along with a new “tune-up” program from Yoplait, which gives an easy way to feel sexy even in the dead of winter.

Staples:
Every woman should have a go-to dress in their closet that they feel great in and flatters their body.  And you don’t have to stick to a little BLACK dress…in fact, jeweled tones will help to boost your motivation as you prepare your ensemble of accessories and shoes around the color.

Mix accessories:
Once you have your staple, you don’t have to spend a fortune to add a little flair to your outfit.  Today, accessories actually look better mixed and matched.  Think silver and gold, pearls and chains, even lace and gems.  Pick one area of the body as the “centerpiece” to mix your chosen accessories, (i.e. wrist, neckline, rings), and dress the rest of your outfit around it to avoid going overboard.

Belts:
Belts are the instant weight loss system to whittle your middle.  You can find classy or colorful belts anywhere, and wearing one over a dress, blouse, or even a jacket or blazer will instantly create a cinched waistline.  I love woven belts because they can easily be adjusted for any body-type.  Another trick is to get a reversible belt, maybe with a pattern on one side and a solid color on the other, or simply add your favorite pattern of fabric onto the back of any existing belt.

Tune Up ahead of time:
A good tool to have in your arsenal to look and feel your best is the Yoplait Light Two Week Tune Up.  You could lose 5 pounds in 2 weeks to get ready for any occasion, big or small.  Here’s what you’ll need to do:

  • Replace breakfast and lunch with a Yoplait® Light, a grain and a fruit
  • Eat a sensible dinner rich in lean protein, and your favorite vegetables for snacks
  • Choose 3 additional servings of non-fat dairy, like skim milk
  • Stay active with 30-40 minutes of walking every day
