Now that summer is here, you might be shopping for a few new pairs of shorts. When choosing shorts, don’t just pick out the cutest pair — consider your body type to find the most flattering shorts for you.
Walking shorts
Bermuda or walking shorts that hit just above the knee are a fabulous way to hide flabby thighs. However, keep in mind that longer shorts can make your legs look shorter. So if you have short legs, don’t wear the walking shorts with flats — put on a pair of wedge espadrilles instead to elongate the look of your legs.
Short shorts
If you are comfortable with your legs, show them off with a pair of short shorts. We don’t mean shorts that are so short that your rear is hanging out. Rather a pair that is just long enough — maybe a 4-5 inch inseam. These types of shorts are great for women with short legs.
Cuffed jean shorts
Denim shorts that you can roll up the cuffs are very versatile. They can give you the extra coverage you want when they are rolled down, and look adorable rolled up. What’s great about cuff shorts is they also can make skinny legs look a bit thicker.

This season, neon and bright dresses are hot. When the color of your dress is bold, you don’t have to do much else to stay the center of attention. To look your best, follow these tips for what to wear with a bright summer dress.
White sandals
Don’t be matchy-matchy with your shoes and dress. Instead, grab a pair of simple white sandals. Slip-on slides as well as strappy, kitten heels are fabulous options.
Contrasting jewelry
If you are wearing a dress with a modern cut or unique details, keep your jewelry very simple. A single cocktail ring or cuff bracelet is just enough — don’t over accessorize.
A woven bag
Straw and other woven handbags are popular for summertime. And we don’t just mean straw totes. This season, you can find handheld satchels and other ladylike bags in white straw and other summery materials.
The Tibi one-shoulder silk-habotai dress pictured here is available at net-a-porter.com for $320.

Jean shorts are in style every summer. This year, pair them with unique tops and surprising accessories to create an assortment of different looks. Here are three terrific ways to wear your denim shorts this summer.
Preppy-nautical
Dark denim walking shorts anchor this nautical look, while the orange boat shoes and matching tote give this outfit a boost of fabulous summer color. Wear the cardigan during cool mornings, then take it off later in the day.
Vintage-chic
Even a casual summer outfit can have a touch of vintage appeal. The blue lace top sets off these traditional jean shorts in this ensemble. And the classic accessories complete the look in style.
Color me beautiful
Denim shorts don’t have to be blue. Get into denim in vibrant summer shades like tangerine, hot pink and tomato red. These red shorts look terrific with a flirty top and stack of bangles. By keeping the bag and shoes neutral, it keeps the focus on the wonderful color in this outfit.

When you are headed to your company picnic, you want to wear something cool and comfy, but not sloppy or tacky. Consider whether you are going to play sports or just hang out in the shade.
Wear shorts that are a little bit longer than you usually wear, or a pair or capris instead. Add a top in a breezy fabric that isn’t too low cut or revealing. Slip into a pair of shoes that are comfy and durable.
We have put together this adorable outfit that’s perfect for a warm day outdoors.

Floral prints are always hot for spring and summer. But this year, we are seeing a lot more than just flowers.
Stripes, tribal prints and polka dots are all the rage. Follow these fashion tips to create a fresh look in the latest prints.
How to wear nautical stripes
The nautical look is definitely “in” right now, but you don’t have to look like a sailor girl to get into this trend. Wear nautical pieces subtly — striped sandals with a breezy white eyelet dress or a striped blazer over a tank and shorts.
How to wear polka dots
Polka dots are here to stay — at least for this year. Get into polka dots with a 50s inspired dress, white satchel and oversized shades. Add a pair of Mary Jane pumps to finish off your look.
How to wear tribal prints
Tribal tunics and maxi dresses are sizzling style choices. Get into the tribal look by teaming up a tribal print tank and white capris with wooden jewelry and a pair of flat sandals.

This season, prints are a hot choice in fashion, from florals to stripes to abstracts. Let’s take a look at how to wear prints this spring.

Printed tunics
Tunics in tribal prints, floral patterns and other funky designs are a top choice right now. You can pair a tunic with your favorite leggings, jeans, capris and more. This gorgeous Alberto Makali Embellished Tunic features a brilliant kaleidoscopic pattern and sleeveless style that makes it perfect for springtime. Partner this top with a pair of slim white capris and flat sandals for a fresh look that can’t be beat.

Pleated print skirts
Pleated skirts can be worn just about everywhere, from work to a night out. The Perfect-Pleat Date Skirt is just perfect with its bold floral pattern and A-line silhouette. Wear this skirt with a sleeveless turtleneck as shown for a feminine, modern look. Add a fitted blazer and bright satchel for the office.

Nautical striped sandals
The nautical trend is hot this year. No one wants you to dress head-to-toe in a sailor outfit, but adding nautical shoes or accessories is a great way to ease into this trend. Check out the Juicy Couture Sea wedge sandals. Available in coral or regal blue and white stripes, these wedges feature knotted fabric straps and a 4 1/4-inch heel. You can order these shoes now at Zappos.com for just $95.00.
